Why The Name "Cedar Falls Doula"?
Share
In the Pacific Northwest, my favorite waterfalls are adorned with the majestic western red cedar tree. These trees thrive in the moist, misty habitat provided by the waterfall, their strong roots stabilizing the banks that cradle the flowing river below. Together, they craft a landscape that fills me with joy and awe.
As I behold a waterfall, I see God. My lips overflow with praise for His creation—water, landscape, and the body that hiked in to witness it. I find parallels in our journey mirrored in the water's path from mountaintop to valley.
Imagine tracing a creek from its source high on a mountain to where it meets the river below—a journey through diverse forms. It begins as a trickle, gradually gathering strength as it winds downhill, merging with other waters to form a stream. The stream becomes a creek, navigating diverse terrains—sometimes gentle, sometimes turbulent, always influenced by the journey. These creeks, large and small, converge to form rivers—a family flowing together, cascading, finding ease, growing as one. This journey parallels the essence of resilience and continuity.
As creeks unite to shape rivers, I aspire to be like a cedar tree on your family's riverbanks—a steadfast presence as your beautiful journey unfolds.
